This March I’ll be attending Ligonier’s 2012 National Conference in Orlando, FL. I’m looking forward to this conference with expectation. It has a great lineup of speakers and is focused on encouraging Christians to develop their minds. As R.C. Sproul says,
“Burning hearts are not nourished by empty heads.”
But more than this, once the conference is over I won’t be immediately returning to Australia…the Binghams are moving to Florida!
What? When did this happen?
You might remember in July of 2010 I announced I had begun some part-time work with Ligonier Ministries. This was such a wonderful blessing from the Lord and an answer to prayer at that time in our family’s life.
Then, late last year I was invited to serve as Internet Outreach Manager, overseeing a variety of interactive projects. After much prayer and council, I accepted this full-time position. The last few months have seen me adjusting to this new role and preparing the necessary paperwork to apply for a working visa. This is one of the reasons there has been a lighter blogging schedule here.
I’m pleased to share that God has been very gracious in answering our prayers and yesterday our visas were approved.
So, is this goodbye?
Yes, this is goodbye for my family and friends here in Australia. But for you, not much should change. I’ll still blog and tweet as I do now, but I ask you to be patient with me as I continue to adjust. It’ll be especially sad for me to farewell my pet kangaroo. On the bright side though, I may get to meet many of you face to face. That’s a good incentive to register for this year’s conference, right?
As you can appreciate, this is a big move for us. My wife and I covet your prayers—especially over the coming days and weeks—and sincerely pray that in all that we do with Ligonier and while in the USA, the Lord would be glorified.
