I Study Like A Scholar, Scholar (Old Spice Parody)

If you haven’t heard of the Old Spice commercials and “the man your man could smell like” then you must have been hiding under a rock. Ever since the success (or at least the popularity) of the commercials, parodies have been popping up everywhere; even Australia’s “World Vision” jumped on the band-wagon. I’m pleased to announce, I think I’ve found one of the funniest and best produced parodies yet. Although, it might just be that it appeals to my geeky and bibliophile side. ;-)

If you haven’t seen the original commercial, then watch this video, then this one, and then maybe this one too, before watching this parody.

HT: Will Adair

Update: I’ve just been told this parody was produced by a Mormon university. I was unaware when I published it. As a disclaimer, please, enjoy their parody, probably don’t visit their university (not entirely sure what a “Mormon” university is), and definitely don’t believe Mormon theology. For information discussing the errors of Mormon theology and why it isn’t Biblical Christianity, see these resources from Alpha & Omega Ministries.

Video: Darth Vader Recites The Alphabet

…well not exactly.

James Earl Jones, the voice of Darth Vader, did recite the alphabet way back when for Sesame Street. After a bizarre minute and a half of not being able to look away, I had to blog it.

Enjoy! Or simply carry on with your day.

Saturday Morning Music Motivation – LSO “Eye of the Tiger”

Wow, that title’s a mouthful. Well it’s Saturday morning here in the Land Down Under and what better way to get motivated for a busy day than to listen to “Eye of the Tiger” performed by the London Symphony Orchestra.

Maybe I found this video motivational because whenever I hear “Eye of the Tiger” I think of this Starbucks commercial. :D

Video: Train Your Brain With The Pomodoro Technique

Last October I first mentioned the Pomodoro Technique. I’ve used it off and on since then, but ironically I ended up getting distracted by some other things and forgot to keep using it. During the times I did use the technique my productivity and concentration increased significantly.

Today I’d like to thank Lifehacker for posting the following video. In less than 5 minutes the Pomodoro Technique is clearly explained and I’m again motivated to give it another serious try.

Video: Social Media Revolution 2

After watching the statistics in Social Media Revolution 2 I’m left with one dominant thought; the market place has changed!

I’m not convinced this need affect how we do church, but it must change how we are salt and light in the world.

Presently, I interact predominately with Christians online. I’m therefore challenged to think how can I better speak of Christ and call those “around” me online to repentance and faith in Him.

How are you being salt and light in today’s market place?

Video: Shai Linne – Mission Accomplished

Although I enjoy a wide variety of music, you’ll not find me listening to rap in my spare time. However, I know many of you enjoy rap and especially Shai Linne’s music. If you do, here’s a great version of “Mission Accomplished” that doesn’t break the 2nd commandment. :-)

Video: Sunday’s Coming – Where “Contemporary” Becomes “Contemporvant”

In this epic video trailer, Sunday’s Coming, you’ll get a glimpse into the once original –but now predictable– contemporary church movement. I wonder if David Murray will include some of the preacher’s tips in his preaching e-Book? If you’re wondering, I’m “pausing” now. ;-)

Video: Apollo 11 Launch

This is an amazing clip of the Apollo 11 launch at 500 frames per second; that’s 30 seconds of footage slowed down to 8 minutes.
