The Word of God and Apologetics

Greg L. Bahnsen on the Word of God and apologetics:

“The Word of God should not be treated as a hypothesis to be proved by rational-empirical testing; it must never be reduced to the level of probability. It is the unquestionable Word of Christ our Lord; we must begin with its veracity and argue accordingly. It is the thinking of the rebellious sinner, not the Word of the Lord, that must be brought into question. Our defense of the faith does not work toward an honoring of Christ’s lordship; it works under that lordship!” (p.27)

Taken from Presuppositional Apologetics: Stated and Defended by Greg L. Bahnsen.

NEW Bookmarks: Professor Grant Horner's Bible Reading System

If you’ve been following my blogging for more than a year then you already know that I make use of Professor Grant Horner’s Bible Reading System. Actually, after many months of not failing the ten chapters per day quota, for several reasons I’ve been a little more flexible over the past month or so. It has been nice to have the freedom to read where “I” wanted to read but I will be returning to the system as prescribed shortly.

To my delight I received an email from JM G. Vergara letting me know that he has designed his own version of the bookmarks for Professor Grant Horner’s Bible Reading System. They are clear, they are crisp, they are NEW, and they come in red, green and pink.

If you’re considering starting the system, or have been doing it for as long as you can remember, print out the new bookmarks and freshen up your old and tattered ones. For those of you like me who have changed some of the books (I read Romans monthly at the moment and not Acts) the .PSD is available for you to edit your own.

Nobel Prize Winner Claims World Would Be Better Without Bible

According to Jose Saramago, winner of the 1998 Nobel Prize for Literature, an atheist and a member of the Portuguese Communist Party:

The Bible is a manual of bad morals (which) has a powerful influence on our culture and even our way of life. Without the Bible, we would be different and probably better people…
