Flickr: Blue Slide

I haven’t had much opportunity to take photos during my time away, but I managed to capture this shot of a blue slide while taking my oldest daughter to a playground.

Clearly I’ve done some post production work (namely a blue hue) but I was really amazed by the lines, curves, textures, and reflections naturally occurring on this piece of play equipment.

Looking into the Past

Flickr posted a link to this very creative gallery that allows you to look into the past by combining two photos.

There is a Flickr group dedicated to this theme as well.

Flickr: Arthurs Seat – Night (Wide)

I’m very thankful to the Lord for my wonderful wife. This week we are celebrating our fifth wedding anniversary. To celebrate we were blessed to stayed up in Arthurs Seat for the night. I managed to get my camera out and capture the terrific night view. I also uploaded a shot that contrasts a portion of the view from day to night.

I’ve not taken any landscape shots before, nor taken shots with a long exposure. This has motivated me to do some reading and then head back out (on a night other than my wedding anniversary) and get more shots.

Flickr: Old Shoes

I only had about 15 minutes this morning but I managed to quickly take this shot in order to participate in the DPS Weekend Photography Challenge.

Flickr: Frankston Beach (Set)

It has been almost a year since I went and spent the day with my camera. Last December I purchased a dSLR to record the memories of our children growing and possibly as a hobby for me. I don’t really know what I’m doing with the camera so maybe one day I’ll take a short course in photography. However, I have fun with it and enjoyed the hour or so at Frankston beach earlier this week. I’ve uploaded several shots and on a couple of them added a retro feel or a lomo effect.

If you’re reading this in an email you’ll likely have to click here to view the set online.

Your Best Shot 2009 (Flickr)

Flickr has opened the photo pool, Your Best Shot 2009. If you have an interest in photography you may enjoy browsing what Flickr users deem as their “best shot” of the year.

Update: The photo above is not my shot, just one I liked from the pool.
